VASCOR is on the lookout for seasoned professionals to fill the role of Yard Manager. We invite you to explore the responsibilities and qualifications required to be part of our expanding team.
The Yard Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager. Yard Managers are responsible for single yard operations sites of small to medium size. Accountabilities include. Service development: coordination with Operations Manager and Team Leaders to ensure service commitment and realization.
Position Responsibilities
- Yard Supervisor will also have responsibility for Work Quality Standards, Loss and Damage Prevention, Claims, Document Control, Safety, and handling personnel matters.
- Present damage prevention or process changes as required.
- Attending customer meetings, phone conferences, understanding customer requirements and meeting or exceeding their expectations.
- Generate alternatives and make recommendations on improving the area’s work process.
- Yard Supervisor could fill in for the Sr. Yard Manager as necessary and ensure all processes are documented and update as necessary.
Qualifications
Education
4-year college degree or 6 years’ management experience.
Training
- Demonstrated “expert” level usage of MS office products including Excel, Access, and Power Point.
- Understanding and experience with Total Quality management
Experience
- Successful Team Leader or equivalent experience in a prior position. Experience with meeting valid external customer requirements, supervisory/managerial capabilities, process management, and PC skills.

- The ability to determine trends and anomalies
- Ability to forecast operational and cost of revenue expenditures one year out for all business lines.
Physical Demands
This position requires the following physical demands:
- Lifting to 25 lbs.1-3 hrs. Throughout the day
- Standing 6-8 hours/day
- Walking, 6-8 hrs./day
- Reach above shoulder level 1-3 hrs./day.
- Bend, Stoop, Squat, and or twist-Repeatedly throughout day.
Environmental
- May be exposed to excessive noise depending on job location and operations in progress.
- Will be working around moving machinery and equipment daily.
- May be exposed to marked changes in temperature and /or humidity.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, radiation, chemical depending on the work location,
- Potentially walks on uneven ground.
- May be required to drive motorized equipment such as golf carts depending on the work location.
- May be required to operate a shuttle van in Releasing Yards
